Fiona Walsh

Secretary (BC)

A retired French Immersion teacher with a new occupation of cycling advocate, Fiona came to purposeful cycling in 2009, at the age of 60, when she bought an electric-assist bike to help her climb the hills of North and West Vancouver. In 2015, she donated her car to the Kidney Foundation and in 2018, she bought her first cargo ebike. Along with a booming North Shore cycling community, she encourages retired folks to ride an ebike and wishes to represent that important demographic at all levels of government. Fiona volunteers in emergency support services with North Shore Emergency Management, teaching Emergency Preparedness to all ages. For the North Shore Safety Council she presents Elmer the Safety Elephant to preschoolers and Kindergartners and, in the City of North Vancouver, she chairs the Grand Boulevard Residents Association. But her passions — when she’s at home — are growing organic fruits and vegetables in her backyard, fermenting and sprouting foods in her kitchen and living green.
