Bike Day on the Hill

Founded in 2012 by MP John Weston, Bike Day on the Hill is a non-partisan celebration of everyday cycling in Canada which takes place on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

Bike Day on the Hill 2024: The Power and Potential of E-bikes and Cargo Bikes

With the support of Senator Marty Deacon and MP Julie Dabrusin, we brought Bike Day on the Hill back to Ottawa on October 8th. This 9th edition of the event featured Canada’s first Parliamentary Slow Bike Challenge, a massive group photo and a formal reception. During the reception, remarks were provided by MPs from all federal parties, there was a showcase of e-bikes and e-cargo bikes, the presentation of national cycling advocacy awards (The Arnos), and light hors d’oeuvres.
