Rudolph (Rudy) Damas is a Senior Consultant with Global Public Affairs’ Transportation, Infrastructure and Communities practice group in Ottawa. As a government relations professional, Rudy leverages his legislative and regulatory expertise to craft advocacy strategies, research, and policy analysis for a wide range of organizations in the private, public and charitable sectors.
Prior to joining Global, Rudy worked in public and international affairs both in Canada and abroad. He has worked as a Parliamentary Assistant to a former Federal Cabinet Minister. He subsequently spent some time at Employment and Social Development Canada’s Service Policy Branch, Global Affairs Canada’s Haiti Branch and at Colleges and Institutes Canada’s Skills to Access the Green Economy (SAGE) initiative in the Caribbean. During his time at SAGE, Rudy updated their gender inclusion policy toolkit which is now being implemented at its partner training institutions across six Caribbean countries. Rudy has worked on a diverse set of policy files throughout his career including the following: Gender inclusion, international trade, Canada-U.S. trade, international education, citizens’ services, supply chain resiliency, infrastructure, technological innovation and more.
Rudy is trilingual (English, French, Haitian Creole) and holds a BA in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Ottawa as well as a Master’s degree in International Development with Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of Guelph.
